Measure your pet

WHY MEASURING YOUR PET IS IMPORTANT?

It’s important to measure your pet correctly so they can travel safely and comfortably. This helps us choose the right crate size for them. If the crate is too small, your pet might be uncomfortable during the trip. To avoid problems, tell us your pet’s measurements when you book your trip. Your pet’s crate needs to be big enough so they can stand up, lie down, and move around.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR PET?

First put your pet against a wall and mark the top of their head and shoulder height with a marker. After doing that, measure their length from their nose to the base of their tail as shown below in the picture.

IT SHOULD BE LIKE THIS:

  1. Measure the length from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (not including the tail)= A
  2. Measure the height from the ground to the elbow joint of the front leg = B
  3. Measure the height from the floor to the highest point on their head or ears = C
  4. Measure the width across the shoulders = D

WHAT CRATE IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR PET TO TRAVEL?

We always recommend IATA-approved crates for pets to travel because they are approved by most airlines. They are very safe and meet the strict criteria recommended for pet shipping:

1. It must have enough room for pets to stand, lie down, and move around comfortably while in the crate, as well as access to food and water.

2. There must be ventilation on all four sides and enough headroom for your pet to stand without touching the top.

3. The bottom of the crate must be leak-proof to prevent any spills, and it should also have food and water bowls accessible from outside the crate.
